TRIBUTE

In Memory Of:
Jerold Emerson 'Jerry' Wiford
Jerold Emerson 'Jerry' Wiford
April 28, 1938-February 8, 2006

Brother Jerry Wiford was a blessing to our church family far beyond our ability to describe. He served as a Trustee for many years, loved God's people unconditionally, and was always there to help in time of need.

Jerry was one of the finest men we have ever known. He was strong, yet tenderhearted...real, genuine, no pretence about him...he possessed a keen mind and a compassionate spirit...was giving, caring, and got great joy out of helping others. Most of what Jerry did was "behind the scenes."  He never wanted the spotlight, but sought opportunities to quietly serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jerry was a "let's get at" it type of person. When something needed to be done, he was ready to start 'yesterday.'   He was a true friend and genuine Christian brother. All of us are blessed for having known him...there is much to learn and emulate from the godly example that he set.

Brother Wiford was honored by the largest turn out in the history of DeGraff, Ohio as well over 1100 people filed through the funeral home to pay their respects. The funeral at our church was so well attended that the sanctuary was packed, Sunday School rooms, hallways, vestibules, etc. were all filled with friends and neighbors whose lives had been touched by this great man.

We have decided to include the audio of Jerry Wiford's funeral service for those who couldn't attend or were gracious enough to sit in another room or stand in a hallway because of the overflow crowd.  May God richly bless you as you listen.
