Testimony: I was born again on October 9th, 1986 and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Prior to that day, I was living in sin but thought I was a Christian. I grew up believing that as long as my good works out-weighed my bad works, then I would go to Heaven. I found out that this is not what the bible says.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast". Once I realized it was not by works and that it is a gift, I knew that I have been going about it the wrong way. Jesus died on the cross for my sins and paid the price, there is nothing more that I can do to add to what he already did. I needed to accept his gift, his sacrifice of what he did on the cross, dying in my place, for my sins. I needed to ask him to forgive me of my sins and make him Lord of my life. I did that at a revival in New Boston, Ohio on October 9th, 1986.
Since then, my life has been changed and I know that I am saved because I am trusting in what he did on the cross, and not on any work that I can do. The only thing any person can actually do, is come to Christ, he does the saving.
My advice to you is to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior before it is too late. We do not know that we have tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation. Live your life for him, get as close to him as you can by reading His Word, studying and meditating in it, seek his will for your life, find your area of ministry, and bring God glory in all that you do.

Favorite Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words".
